An awful trailer for a very entertaining movie. |

Sicario
Exo's review is everything I'd say, I mean literally everything I'd say, except I give it a 4.5/5. Thought it was excellent. I actually live 10 miles from the border so this hits harder than any film I've seen this year. http://img.123movies.to/2015/10/16/p..._Walk_2015.jpg This film though. This fucking film. Absolutely one of the most beautiful, mesmerizing films I've seen in the past 20 years. And that's how old I am. Joseph Gordon Levitt's frenchiness had me sold the entire time, and the ensemble were all perfectly cast. The visual effects were gorgeous, an extremely tasteful look at New York City. And the story, dear God. It's a true story, but even the actual events are pure poetry. Robert Zemeckis is a legend, this film is epic in every sense. And the Towers are draped in elegance. 6/5 |
12 Angry Men (1957)
Engaging, fantastic, and quite thrilling for a film set in a single room for 90 minutes. |
Terminal 2. Enjoy a lot!

This was the only Paul Thomas Anderson film I hadn't seen apart from Inherent Vice. For the first half I thought it was a good film that was realistic, but didn't have anything that particularly wowed me apart from the acting and cinematography. Then the second half kicked in, and I was reminded of why I love PTA. Looking back to the first part in the context of the film makes it much better, but I'll be honest when I was underwhelmed for the first hour or so. In the end, 4.5/5. |

How Dirk Diggler’s Penis Was Created In ‘Boogie Nights’ | UPROXX "We sculpted a version that was 12 inches long, and we tested it and it was just way too big. It looked just like a weird monster penis." ................. i should be using google for more productive things.. |
I learned everything that I ever wanted to know about Dirk Diggler's dick (and his story, to a lesser degree) here: Livin’ Thing

Caught this last night on TMC. Have seen it many times but it never fails to delivery the goods.
Interesting fact about the famous Joy Harmon car wash scene. She was filmed on one day, and the prisoners reactions were filmed on a different day. Talk about acting. |

Robin Williams Remembered – A Pioneers of Television Special (2014) This showed up on Netflix and I waited a few days before I watched it. It's really quite good. There's a lot about him that I really didn't know about, and it basically showcases the final interview he took part in before his death. It also does a good job at focusing more on the positive parts of his life instead of the negatives. I enjoyed it quite a bit and anyone who is a fan of Robin Williams would surely enjoy it. |
Decided to watch a double feature...

It was crazy when the Columbian dude snuck into the main drug cartel guy's house and made him watch as he shot his wife and two kids while they were having dinner before shooting him too. The drug cartel guy had ordered the murder of the Columbian secret agent guy's own family, you see. Spoiler for Spoiler:

Jurassic World is now available on my VOD service. Is it worth paying for to see?

It's pretty boring all the way through, but then the pterosaur scene just makes it downright cringe-worthy.

The difference between Sicario and TWD sounds like you can't see the events coming in the former from ten episodes away.

Heard a snippet of dialog which intrigued me while listening to a sound collage set by DJ Food. Googled the phrase and in minutes, I was watching My Dinner with Andre for the first time.
About an hour left of it, but I can certainly see why Siskel and Ebert were crazy about the film. It's curious that these last two films I've seen (12 Angry Men and ...Andre) have both taken place in a single room. |

Niles: "Dad, I think we got our videos mixed up. My first inkling was when I sat down to watch "My dinner with Andre" and saw instead Charles Bronson blowing street trash away. Still, I guess it was as bad for you?" Martin (trying to be polite): "Oh, no no! It was really ... suspenseful. Will they order dessert? Will they leave a big tip?" |

I saw Back to the Future I, II, & III. It was a special one time viewing, honoring the fact that they went to the future in the movie to the futuristic date of October 21st, 2015. The marathon took about six and a half hours from beginning previews to ending credits. I never did a movie marathon before, and didn't think I would make it through, but I survived on a bottle of Mountain Dew and chocolate covered peanuts I smuggled in. Jaws 19 - Trailer |
Saw the remake of Last House on the Left last night.

I saw Brick a couple days ago. I liked it a fair amount. There might have been a bunch going on thematically that I couldn't figure out, or there might have been nothing - I sort of hope it's the former. I watched it with my mom and she liked it, but she thought it was a lot darker than I did - for me, it was basically a comedy because of how transparently absurd the whole movie was, and unlike, say, Coen brothers movies, where there's absurdity but there's maybe bigger, deeper stuff going on, I didn't really see that here (hence the second sentence). But I thought it was a good, really well-shot movie, and I liked the score a lot. The ending was pretty predictable though.

What does everyone think of The Martian I heard "Starman" in a montage and it piqued my interest.

Kung Fury I've been wanting to find this online to watch it, and surprisingly it showed up on Netflix this morning. Quite possibly one of the best short films i've seen in a while. If you have 30 minutes to kill, watch it. It's worth it. |
