Final Fantasy: A Good Game If You Know Your Way Through

I could not load a picture yet again. It's very depressing. Confusing dungeons, pathetic mini bosses, countless monsters that leave you drained, and a whole lotta stops just to kill a monster that you kill again later in the game in 2,000 years ago land. YOU NEED A GUIDE IF YOU ARE GOING TO PLAY THIS GAME. But if you level up a lot, it saves you from calling Chaos a stupid, frustrating twat that should be dead, not sent back to the past to be reborn.

This might be a dumb question but it's different that Super Mario Bros. Wii, right? Because I've got that one!

I know that there's going to be a new installment in the Zelda series - Skyward Sword. But apparently the release date is not until sometime in 2011. I was sort of hoping Nintendo would release it around Christmas :( But based on all the past Zelda games, it should be worth the wait.

debaserr 08-05-2010 04:30 PM

New Super Mario Bros Wii is similar to the old platformers but much better.
Both the Mario Galaxy games are very fun too, but I assume you have them already.

PSN credits, but it takes a while to get 'em.

But yeah, I want that game.

Who are these people? Most MK fans that I know really dig the newer games, especially MK vs. DC Universe.

Oh ok, thanks. And yes, I have the Mario Galaxy games already. I haven't played them in a long time though.

I think the 1st question was already answered. But New Super Mario Bros I've heard is a pretty good game (it's got co-op too if you want to play through the story with someone).

As for Zelda, it would definitely be worth the wait. I've never been disappointed by a zelda game... ever, lol. Even the handheld versions are top notch.

i don't really have anything set. the bad thing is, even if i was ok at scouting usually i wouldn't know how to counter stuff. i think i should probably focus on learning all the units and their strengths/weaknesses for now.

Not if you're terran. Send out an SCV to find them, then rely on your com center until you get air.

I usually rally the SCV's to the mineral line.

find the ramp and use a barracks + Supply Depots.

Given my opponent I'll put bunkers either near the CC or the ramp. I throw up at least 2 or 3 barracks and pump out the tanks.

Obviously scouting is huge but your turrets should be up and depending on your preference in unit - reaper strikes or ghost nukes.

Oh and this is important

F12 shows all units, their benefits and their weaknesses.

i have enjoyed all of the 3D iterations but i have been disappointed a bit with how little has changed since ocarina. it is a solid blueprint but twilight princess is basically the same game. and have you seen the demo for the new one? it doesn't look very interesting, but i am hoping it is.

Going back and finishing up the loose ends in Red Dead Redemption.

Guybrush 08-11-2010 01:23 AM

I got 97.5% completion in that one. Pretty sure I got all quests and challenges, so not sure what those 2.5% are.

Do you have to win poker at every table, collect a bounty at each possible location etc?

I'm not sure about winning at every table but killing every type of animal is part of it.

What I'm playing:

Devil may cry 3(working on DMD mode)
Prince of persia
Dawn of War

Alfred 08-11-2010 10:24 AM

I'm playing Civilization III (PC) and Civilization Revolution (DS). I still suck at III (I have to play on Chieftain if I want to even have a shot at winning) but I'm getting good at Revolution. I've beat it on King twice now, I'm gonna step up to the next one (I think it's Monarch) soon.

Back in the days when LucasArts made games worth a damn. I'm actually playing the updated version that came out last month, it's the same game just better graphics

Hehe, I know Monkey Island 2 by heart, like I can play through it in my mind. Truly brilliant adventure game :)

I'm like that with Curse of Monkey Island (my first exposure to the series back in '97) but I'm getting on the game designer's train of logic and advancing faster than I thought. I also learned that The Secret of Monkey Island was given the same graphical treatment so I can finally play the series from start to finish. One of these days I'll get back on with The Longest Journey (Which I'm sure you're familiar with being Norwegian and all), because that game was far too much fun to just give up on.

Me and my friends used to play Monkey Island 1 and 2 on the Amiga 500 back in the days :) I remember I was highly anticipating the release of Curse .. I was so excited to see how they would continue after the somewhat strange ending from number 2.

The Longest Journey is a game I've played, but I never actually finished it! Maybe I should pick up that one as well .. and there's a second one out as well.

It kind of sucked that I had to buy this game again (I've got the 4 disc set right next to me) but at least I know it will work. In any case this is probably one of the most pivotal game of my childhood.

http://www.stuffwelike.com/stuffweli...007/07/box.jpg

Indigo Prophecy... it was a unique game for the PS2 and Xbox with Heavy Rain as it's spiritual successor. I bought this last year on Steam but it didn't want to work, but perhaps because the stars are aligned the right way, the game is working now. It's been harder getting use to the controls again, I even had to remap a few because they were ridiculous where they were. Overall it's just as fun as it was once I started getting into it, and I'm finding out all sorts of things I didn't know, like if you decide to drink a lot of alcohol in your apartment, then take some pain pills, you die.

Pretty good RPG for the Nintendo DS. Exceptionally well thought out, and innovative. Mario never seems to disappoint.

Guybrush 08-17-2010 03:33 PM

Minecraft .. What a game!

You play in a huge open world which is your playground. Basically, you dig tunnels and tradeskill, build stuff and avoid zombies and other enemies. You can build rollercoasters.

It's great fun, but don't pick it up if you don't have the time to become addicted ;)

Grace_Under_Pressure 08-17-2010 07:55 PM

Beat My game Today. :) But is says I can go back and explore But, I did and it is boring.. lol

Forget 4 months, you're going to have no social life period. That game is virtual crack and I was lucky to get off it when I did because if not it would seriously screw up my school schedule.

It's actually not that bad, the enemy A.I. is pretty intelligent and a firefight between two NPC's can be devastating if your aim is off. I'm actually quite impressed with how my laptop is handling the graphics too... might have to see what else this computer can handle.

Landon 08-21-2010 10:20 AM

Football manager 2009 - been playing non-stop over the last three months.

What, you didn't know that? Was Heavy Rain worth playing?

http://www.gamewithabrain.com/wp-con...nture/ico.jpeg
I've been playing Ico. It's an adventure game for the ps2 released about a year into the ps2's life cycle. It's amazing how well the game holds up given that its almost 10 years old. I find the production and design choices made put it on par aesthetically with every contemporary game I've played. The spiritual successor was shadow of the colossus and the next installment in the "franchise" is the last guardian.

I didn't get really far in Heavy Rain before my PS3 and game got stolen. It wasn't as fast paced as Indigo Prophecy, the beginning part seemed to take forever but once the game got going it was a fun mixture of things. As far as the pain pills plus alcohol are concerned I know in real life they kill you, but so does a single gunshot wound to the torso (most of the time) and yet I seem to be able to take a munitions dump to the face without dying in every video game I ever play, so excuse me if I don't think the developers will pay that close attention to reality :P
