I really like it too, but have to say that Holy Land is more complete but takes several listens to really get into. I'm looking forward to listening to Fireworks their third album, as its regarded as one of their best.

Savatage have been mentioned on several occasions on the thread but this is the first album recommendation by me on here. Savatage originally started out as a speed metal act and their first couple of releases have been seen as early death metal influences, by the time the band reached their third album the terrible Fight for the Rock, the band needed something of a facelift and shifted into a power metal direction, and producing the great Hall of the Mountain King in 1987 and it was full of great riffs provided by the late Chris Oliva, brother of singer Jon Oliva. What this band may have lacked in the songwriting department, they more than made up with great enjoyable metal and this album still sounds great today.

Haven't listened to all the songs on that album but I can say that Beyond The Doors Of The Dark and Hall Of The Mountain King are the stand-out tracks for me.

Cheesy and many of the songs aren't exactly Grammy material, but damn it, they still rule!

Hall of the Mountain King was a great album by Savatage and their breakthrough album, but I just recently listened to the follow-up album Gutter Ballet and its just as good and song for song probably even better. Producer Paul O'Neill really transformed this band. At times singer Jon Oliva sounds amazingly like Alice Cooper!
