The Social Learning Approach

Actions that lead to rewards.

Our parents teach us how to lie.
How to be cunning-linguists,
and con-artists.
Sultans of spin
artistry.
Teach us how to cry.

Socialization

The process of teaching behavior based on beliefs and standards.

Everything’s twisted, just like fifteen-rounders, an under age whore’s hair,
home alone, or at a bar, or driving your beat-scene car.
Steal something and they’ll laugh and call you crazy,
Set a plate the wrong way and you’re useless,
a supposed bad kind of insane.
Street-smarts, individual car parts.
Perfectionists, victims of OCD and
the drunk-logic artistry.
It was mundane to keep things on an even swag.
To be a justifier, an illegal-esque liar.

Heredity

Alcoholic, narcotics addict.
Well-read, subjective semantics.
Never a straight answer, problematic, in the process of honing your tactic.
A corrupt politician - anorexia, malnutrition.
Very successful at your art,
in Irony. Congratulations, you can manipulate simple addition.
Fear of abandonment, because you were there
in a Dylan-esque caliber.
Another dimension, co-dependant.
You’re stripped bare,
And Not There at all.

in the Projects.

in the Wonderland.
Called myself a socialist,
stuck in the Badlands.
Snorted coke with Freud,
did lunch with the humanoids on a daily basis.
Life goes by like molasses
dripping,
off the table.
