I really want to see the Cowboys just ruin TB tomorrow, but I gotta focus on one game at a time ffs I feel myself aging.

:finger:

Brady is 7-0 against Dallas so they have that little bit of extra motivation.

I know it's being greedy but I'm rooting for 8-0.

Buffalo just had a HUGE wake-up call at home.

It's okay. Mr. Turnover at QB is gonna have a rude awakening against the Bengals.

And I ****ING HATE TOM BRADY - and yet I still want to see his Bumbling, Stumbling, Fumbling Bucs humiliate the Cowboys. It's just too funny not to root for. Yet another Cowboys one and done in the playoffs. Are they still dem boyz? We'll find out shortly.

For the record, I had to first suffer through Steve Grogan and Tony Eason getting literally destroyed by the Bears in 86, and then Drew Bledsoe losing to Green Bay in 97, before getting to enjoy the Brady years.

Linda and I watched the game in 97 while waiting on a flight at the airport in Phoenix so it didn't sting too much.

We attended a large local Legion Hall party for the Bears game.
That was a very long and depressing afternoon.

SGR 01-15-2023 05:51 PM

Say goodbye to the frauds in Minnesota - Giants win by 7!

This Cinci/Baltimore game is a god damn mess.

Probably would've won that game with Lamar.

Just saw this. Sentimental because he's Nick Bosa's brother? Be happy you've got the good one. Dude couldn't keep his cool and his toddler-like temper tantrums and the resulting penalty helped set up the Jags for 2pts instead of 1. Had he not done that, Chargers could've had a chance to still win in overtime. Guy's barely ever healthy and when he is, he's spiking his helmet in rage and costing his team.

That prima donna? I wouldn't count on it. Don't fall into the Lamar is God crap. It will just go to his head.

SGR 01-16-2023 07:17 AM

True, he'd still have the odds stacked against him with Harbaughs terrible clock management and Greg Roman's awful playcalling.

rubber soul 01-16-2023 07:25 AM

Yeah, there's a feeling here that they all have to go in Baltimore, except maybe Roquan Smith. He could be the next Ray Lewis here.

Mindfulness 01-16-2023 01:17 PM

I want to see Tom Brady win tonight! But want the eagles to win it all this year.

rubber soul 01-16-2023 01:21 PM

I'd usually go with the Eagles too but after what Buffalo has gone through, it'd be nice to see them finally get that ring.

Agreed. Was nice to see Jim Kelly on the sidelines yesterday.

I want the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl.

Time for Brady to call it a career and start his new gig calling games from the booth.
His insights into defenses in real time should be fun.

Get on the phone to Giselle Tom.....

Fun? I really don't think so. Insightful, probably. Tom doesn't have much charisma at all. He'd be even less fun to listen to than Drew Brees I think.

I think he plays for a new team for at least one more year.

I didn't think the Bucs would win. I was rooting for it though, and for the Cowboys to be one and done. Part of me just wasn't going to be that surprised if the Cowboys managed to choke. They didn't, it wasn't close at all, so in that respect, I'll take my lashings. Cowboys have been better on both sides of the ball this year. Bucs have looked absolutely anemic on offense for most of the year. Their last three or four games came down to no-huddle offense and deep shots to Mike Evans just to eek out wins.

Cowboys throughout the year have looked mostly good - but Dak throws too many picks and I don't really trust Mike McCarthy in big games. If the Cowboys beat the Niners next weekend, I'll be happy to eat crow.

Easiest way to rate a pro QB is the touchdown to interception ratio.
asset vs liability

Montana
318 TD vs 160 INT = approx 2 TDs for every INT

Brady
737 TD vs 252 INT = approx 3 TDs for every INT

I wonder what Ryan Leaf's TD/INT ratio looks like?

I had to look.

14 TD to 36 INT = Over 2.5 INT for every TD :bonkhead:

Way back I ended up standing behind him in line at some food court downtown.
BIG ****ing dude!

You ever read up much on his story? What a fall from grace and then redemption story.

And i thought you were a New Englander. How did you end up in a food court line behind Ryan Leaf?

Read under my avatar.
1960-1997 Boston
1997- San Diego

I got to see the entire Leaf San Diego meltdown across 3 local news networks + ESPN on a nightly basis.

If I'd have had another half foot of height, 25-30 more pounds, and balls twice the size of the ones God gave me I might have tapped him on the shoulder that day and reminded him how bad he was letting everyone down.

Did I mention how big he is?

But for real, sounds like I asked the right MB member about Ryan Leaf. My dad is actually a Chargers fan - he hates Ryan Leaf (obviously). As a Christmas gag, I found Ryan Leaf on Cameo to make a custom Christmas greeting video for my dad - introducing himself in the video as "Chargers Legend, Ryan Leaf here...". He actually was irritated at the whole thing - didn't find humor in it at all.

Which made it funnier for me of course.

Funny story about your dad! We'd just moved out here for Leaf, and my sports heart was still out in Boston (still mostly is), so I watched with no vested interested.

Ya can't help but feel for the guy considering just how far he fell. I give him credit for being able to poke fun at it now.

Redemption stories are always a great thing. Good on him.
Glad my story doesn't involved a busted jaw.....

Re: Chargers fans - The place I moved out here to work for (and spent 20+ years with) had a few hard core football/Chargers fans.
Actually got to the point after enough years where I had to start tampering down my giddiness on Monday mornings after another Brady win.

100% true: The Monday after the 2007-08 / 18-0 Pats were badly upset by the Giants in the Super Bowl, I taped a note to my office door;

DO NOT POKE THE ANIMAL!!!

I watched that game as a Boston hater and immediately after called my friend who's a Patriots fan and he answered the phone with "Go **** yourself".

Best game ever.

And then they did it again 4 years later. Peyton Manning jokes that if not for his mother, Brady would have 9 rings.

The Batlord 01-19-2023 10:22 AM

Brady does look effeminate enough to get beat by a girl.
