My Grandad passed away in the early hours of the morning. The badass outlasted 2016 against all odds. RIP.

I'm sorry to hear that. Hope your family is doing ok.

Goofle 01-01-2017 11:22 AM

Thanks guys. As you could probably tell by my post we were expecting it sooner rather than later. Still, been a tough day.

Drunken co-op Halo with my hetero life mate for New Year's Eve. The nostalgia meter was off the charts.

I asked him to marry me once, so I should think so.

Chula Vista 01-01-2017 01:46 PM

Sorry to hear that Goofle.

My sciatica has been flaring up the past few days. Today it's off the charts. Ice ice baby.

This **** ain't black and white.

It took me a long time to find a beer I didn't hate. In the end, it was an ale. I still hardly ever drink, but if I do, this would be what I would order.

Yeah, we have Deliveroo, Just Eat, and a whole host of other services here. Even chippers (chip shops) will deliver to your door. Cool.

We're not so **** off.

If you and Frown were married there would be something fundamentally wrong with the universe.

I recently ordered alcohol from a alcohol only takeaway using Just Eat. It was so random but all the shops were shut so it was great to just order it so quick like that. Just Eat is life.

I've always found Smithwick's to be a bit bland. My mum seems to drink it the whole time though.

Trollheart 01-01-2017 05:36 PM

I used to drink Foster's but pretty much all lagers taste the same to me (no wonder the English call them bitter!) and despite being Irish, and despite the fact that my mother loved it, I can't stand Guinness, or any other stout. I have had the odd Southern Comfort, but it needs to be nearly drowned in red lemonade, so probably what's the point? Drank it neat once, nearly choked me. :)

Smithwick's I actually like the taste of, probably one of the only beers that I do.

I used to drink Foster's for a short period. Mainly because it was the cheapest beer you could get on draft in my town. I wouldn't touch it now though.

It's called a Half and Half here. The name 'Black and Tan' wouldn't go down particularly well ;)

djchameleon 01-01-2017 06:08 PM

Hearing Black and Tan reminds me of Psych

No. It's just poured with the utmost care to float the Guinness on top of the Harp, "oh ye of little faith of what your fellow Irish countrymen can do."

Then that is disgusting. I'm amazed the two brewers merged over a drink like that. Never heard of such a thing before, though of course I really don't drink. But Guinness with Harp? Yuck, even in my mind. :yikes:

You might like Guinness + Sam Adams Cherry Wheat (50/50). It cuts the Guinness a lot and adds a nice sweetness.

The bright side of having a flu descend into a sore throat and sinus infection is that it's damn easy to stop smoking cigarettes.

Sucks when you don't ever get sick. Looks like I'll be smoking forever.

I thought both of these things until I got sick and my throat almost closed up from smoking.

You also have to be ready to quit. 30+ years of smoking and I could hardly breathe. I was ready. I just needed a push.
