Schattenvald - III -- (This is really on the atmospheric side, probably more akin to some of the recs you've gotten from others.) Spoiler for All six songs from the album:
Janvs - Vega -- (This gets into a more BlackGaze, third wave-BM style than others I've recommended and not all of it is completely atmospheric, but a large portion of it is, and I'm thinking you would enjoy it.) Midnight Odyssey - Shards of Silver Fade -- (It's quite a long, double album, over two hours, and there's a chance it may bore you. Even though I've already said that I'm fine with you picking and choosing from all my recs and refusing to do any you don't feel up to, I feel I must stress that again for this that I'm fine if you choose to not go through with reviewing them.) -- Shards Of Silver Fade | I, Voidhanger Records Kvist - For Kunsten Maa Vi Evige Vike -- (I'm not sure if this would really count, rather than maybe be labelled Melodic Black Metal or just regular second wave, though think it's fairly atmospheric, and a gem from the mid 90's.) Saor - Aura -- (Very much a Folk/Pagan Metal album, but with obvious, apparant Black Metal in its sound and very atmospheric. Worth a listen even if you don't decide to do it for you ABM segment, though I think it would appropriately fit.) -- Aura | Saor |

If it's okay with you, I'm going to credit the selections in that section during Metal Month to you. I have found some amazing music thanks to you and I doubt I would have done so just flailing around in the dark as I usually do, so I'd like to credit you when I write the section.

Also, would you be open to mentioning which recommendations you have liked the most of the ones I've sent your way? I'm fine if you want to leave that for when you start posting your reviews, though I'm curious which ones have been the best. However, I'm fine with waiting until October, too, since that's the time when your opinion of these albums, and all of the other Metal related stuff has been planned to be posted. |

I'll be happy to PM you if you want, but I generally like to save any impressions, good or bad, of what I've listened to for the actual Metal Month itself. It took a lot not to tell everyone (who cared) how much I was impressed by Sigh, but it made the post more interesting and impacted much better.
As for the credits, well I was thinking of something like "compiled with the invaluable advice help and direction of...." I think there is one other person here who has suggested a raft of ABM albums, so probably just you two. Anyone who mentioned Ulver over the months is just a general "oh you should listen to this" sort of thing, but you and (damn I can't remember who it was) went out of your way to put some recs together and helped really drive the section, so I think that deserves to be recognised. Edit: it was Grindy.

Second Year Syndrome
I'm aware that last year I trashed, or at least was very unkind to, a lot of albums that were suggested by members here. There was of course no intention to insult or belittle anyone's choice of music, but I'm aware that I may not have given some of the albums a fair chance.
As a result, I offer you the opportunity to convince me. If you think an album of yours received too harsh treatment in Metal Month II, or was not given a fair chance, post and tell me and I will listen to it again and advise what my feelings are about it, one year on. I won't be re-reviewing anything, but I will tell you if, now that my appreciation of/tolerance for the more extreme types of metal is starting to change and grow and adapt, I have a different opinion of it than I did in 2014. I'll then feature all the albums in a section called (guess?) "Second Year Syndrome", where I'll write a brief (and I mean brief) piece on each, telling you what, if anything, has changed my mind about the albums. So I'm talking to those who recced albums for "Don't listen to that --- listen to this!" and the top tens of course. Batty's Torture Chamber albums are exempt, as I was supposed to hate them.

What, nobody? You all think I was fair to your albums? Even Swarrrm??
On another note, here are the winners of the 2015 Members' Top Ten Lists, in no order: Frownland Ninetales Wpnfire As the first two of you did your lists last year you may want to update/change them; if so do so soon, as I will be diving into them from tomorrow. Frownland's will be up first, god help me....
