Well we blew a overtime chance to beat New Orleans but I goota say I'm not suprised. I'm just suprised that we even had the oppurtunity to get the game into overtime. Not sure how this is gonna play out playoff wise cause if the Giants lose today and we beat Washington next week we will have split games with Washington on the year. Then if the Giants win next week it would be a 3 way tie because we split with them also on the year. Two loses would terminate the Giants playoff hope but still leaves the Washington debacle.

Since nobody wants to say who they think will win tonights real NFC showdown. I'll go out on a limb here and say the Seahawks prevail. Of course I've been wrong before.

Sparky 12-23-2012 07:32 PM

kaepernick certainly struggling so far tonight

Exo 12-23-2012 10:28 PM

Nothing good about that game. Blooz, you have a a whole week of me eating a bit of crow. Kaep played like an inexperienced scared little boy tonight.

I will say however that Kaep does not play defense and that Russell Wilson is incredible.

Its all good man, I was disappointed in them myself. I just had a feeling that coming off that win against New England they might soften a lil. Gore never really got going, and Seattle struck first. Hard to play from behind against that D in that stadium, and yes, Russel Wilson may be very under rated. Hard to say out of the three rooks this year who deserves Rookie of the year. I also think as much as I like Harbaugh that Carols game planning was just a lil better than his, and the execution was spot on. They didn't let Gore beat them with that lil mis direction/draw that got'em the last time. When you can slow him down, and get on the scoreboard early the odds are in your favor cause San Frans just not built to play from behind. Sucks they lost Davis and Manningham too. This game also made me realise something else...that my Dallas Cowboys if they do make it to the playoffs isn't a good enough team to compete with either of these teams I dont think.

Exo 12-27-2012 05:08 PM

I believe my niners just lost Justin Smith for the playoffs. The defense is not the same without him.

debaserr 12-27-2012 06:56 PM

The Seahawks look like the real deal too.

Thats about as Big a loss as a defense could ever absorb. Dudes the reason they invented the term Beast. He was even in some pundits short list of DPOY.

Forward To Death 12-28-2012 02:09 PM

Justin Smith just creates hella pressure, maybe more than anyone else. Tough to replace someone like him. I'd also like to note that the Patriots comeback (most of it at least if my memory isn't shot) was after Smith left the game, and of course they just got whooped at Seattle.

Also, Peterson's chase for 2,105 is interesting. If he runs over the Texans for about 150, he will definitely get the record IMO.

Also, if we beat Houston, I think that we'll take the Packers at home.. What's ****ed is that we could pull it off and still not make the POs since there are a few teams that hold tiebreakers over us.

Dude, Packers are gonna slaughter the Vikings on Sunday, and I highly doubt Clay, AJ, Sam Shields, Raji, Casey, or any of my homies on the DL are gonna let Adrian get that record in Lambeau;)

Just spreading some green bay gospel for y'all. Any other packers fans around? Since the regular season ends in like 3 days, I can't be bothered to read all 149 pages of this thread!! ^^;

Slaughter? I think Green Bay will win the game, I think it will be highly contested however. I don't see Adrian going for 200 plus so thats not exactly setting the World on fire with that prediction.

Well, the slaughtering will all depend on Crosby's foot, I suppose. We will definitely have more possession time and do way better in the red zone. Score could be something like 34-10 I reckon.

We shall see. Score could be something like 9-7 also.

Your guess is as good as mine, all I can tell you is that I'm mad excited about it. ESPN America (Europe style) is playing the game at 11pm where I am, and god knows I'll be downing coffee and eating a million slices of pumpkin pie to deal with all the stress. I just can't bear a loss right before the playoffs, especially if we have to play the goddamn 9ers.

:yikes:

Note: I erroneously presumed this game would be in Lambeau, which has since damaged my extreme optimism...

Are those the same guys that let him rush for 210 last game? I know 8-9 in the box didn't work out so hot last time.Repeat performance of that and he has the record.

I don't know why your sure packers will win time of possession. Vikings have home field advantage and really only throw it on 3rd down.

Going to come down to who scores first. If the pack gets to an early 14 point lead the vikings aren't designed to come back from a deficit and will lose, but if vikes get ahead their pretty hard to beat. Didn't allow the texans one touchdown last week.

See my previous note. I was all hyped up thinking it was a home game for us. But yeah I'm still sure that we will win. And I sure as hell wish I could watch the game with someone other than my clueless Turkish roommate. At least there's beer.

Yeah you sure called that one....

Anyway I'm just disgusted with Dallas and Romo and Garrett. Its the same story every year and it stays true to life today. On the biggest of stages Tony Romo just can not execute and chokes every time. I dont care how many of Aikmans or Staubachs records or franchise records he breaks, he is a choke artist. Rg3 playing hurt showed more poise and mental toughness than the seasoned vet Romo. Shanahan out game planned Garrett and his team executed pretty well mos t of the night. The blitz killed Dallas all night long and the option RG3 was running was just confusing Demarcus Ware and the rest of the Dallas D. They couldn't really find an answer for Morris and it just opened things up for RG3. Its time for Dallas to make some big changes and I'm not sure what good it will do as long as Jerry Jones is the owner. However it needs to start with aquiring a new QB and head coach and GM to overlook the process. Get rid of Miles Austin and Rob Ryan while your at it. Its just embarassing to be a Cowboys fan anymore...its pathetic.

Exo 12-30-2012 10:07 PM

I think Cowboys go out and get a nice rookie prospect to groom for the future this year. Romo train is coming into the station. How may years of Romo choking can a team actually stand? Swallow your pride and get a new QB Jerry.

Bloozcrooz 12-30-2012 10:18 PM

Yeah they need to somehow look into getting some first round picks and try to draft a franchise QB. The Romo era has been a disappointing failure for years now on in. See what you can get for Miles Austin and Sean Lee and some of the other Dallas pansies that cant ever stay healthy or perform well anymore.

Bloozcrooz 12-30-2012 10:30 PM

However congrats to your niners on making the post season.

Bengals > Texans

The Texans are in a free fall. Schaub can't be counted on when they can't run it. Cincy has one of the best run stuffing D lines in the league, paper rocks etc.

-----------------------------
Colts > Ravens
-----------------------------
I don't trust Flacco or the Ravens D without Ngata and others. Colts have one more week of bliss.

-----------------------------
Packers > Vikings

QBs > RBs

Seahawks > Redskins

Seahawks seem destined for at least NFC Champ App.

Awwww! Fred you were right on the money about the game. I'll listen to you next time, don't worry. :'(

I'm still sooo happy with how we played :) I'm especially proud of our red zone guys, both offensively and defensively...the only problem was the penalties, especially at the end!

I love how fast Aaron can get the team going and I also love watching the no huddle. He can complete more throws in under a minute than most QBs out there :)

Rematch!! REMATCHH!!!

Not really. I figured GB to win and Peterson not to get 200 yds. Both were wrong predictions. What a hell of a year for AP, was really rooting for him to pass Dickerson. Vikes are a dangerous foe in the playoffs, but Green Bay should take the win at home.

Bloozcrooz 12-31-2012 11:45 AM

Andy Reid, Norv Turner, Lovie Smith, Ken Whisenhunt, Romeo Crennel, Chan Gailey, Pat Shurmur all getting the axe today. A lot of GM's today also lost their jobs and I have yet to hear of any changes going on in Dallas. Jerry Jones arrogance knows no bounds and will inevitabaly continue to be the thorn in the side of the franchise till the end of his tenure as the owner. For someone who loves money so much he also likes to stand in his own way as far as being able to market his organization in a profitable manner. The best way to market a franchise and create more revenue is to win games and to take the necessary steps to ensure this will happen. One trade over a decade ago that went your way is not the way to do that Jerry. Fire yourself as the GM and hire someone legit. Stay out of the coaching aspect of it and let the proffessionals do their job! Everyone in America knows what the Cowboys problem is and has been for years now including Jones himself. Admitedly acknowledging that he would have fired himself if he in fact had employed a GM who's failed to produce like he has. So what is he waiting on? I'm starting to think maybe he's purposely sabatoging the Cowboys...I mean who says that and then continues to refuse to make the changes he knows need to be made!

debaserr 01-02-2013 03:50 PM

Given a few days to contemplate my picks, the only one I'm worried about is Colts>Ravens.

Sparky 01-02-2013 03:53 PM

After reading about the clippers owner earlier today i must say you can do a lot worse then jones.

At least with jones you know plenty of money is going to be spent. Jerry made it sound like he plans on a switch at qb finally, he cited the positive switches at qb for broncos and redksins as something he's aspiring to. Who knows.

Forward To Death 01-03-2013 02:12 AM

When Ponder plays well, the Vikings are very formidable, so let's just hope he keeps playing the way he has the past couple of weeks. I think the Pack has the edge, but we've played competitively with them all year.

Hope Winfield returns as well, can't stand seeing Jefferson and Sherells getting burned on 3rd and long constantly.

Bloozcrooz 01-03-2013 10:37 PM

Supposedly Jerrys going to make some "big changes." I'm curious as to what they will be, and not being optimistic in the least bit.

im predicting seahawks win the super bowl

Thom Yorke 01-06-2013 02:58 PM

I think whoever wins the 49ers/Packers game will win the Superbowl.

Thom Yorke 01-06-2013 05:37 PM

Seahawks over Falcons
49ers over Packers
Broncos over Ravens
Patriots over Texans

49ers over Seahawks
Patriots over Broncos

49ers over Patriots

misspoptart 01-07-2013 12:56 AM

Falcons > Seahawks
Texans > Patriots
Broncos > Ravens
Packers > 49ers

:)

debaserr 01-12-2013 11:48 AM

Broncos > Ravens
The temperature + Manning hype is overplayed. Flacco has playoff wins, but I will take Manning at home against a depleted Ravens D(that never gave Manning any trouble anyways), and don't forget the Denver D is no slouch either. Flacco and Co. should struggle to score.

Packers > Niners
Falcons > Seahawks
Patriots > Texans

Sparky 01-12-2013 01:42 PM

falcons over seahawks? really?

debaserr 01-12-2013 02:06 PM

Yep, I went out on a limb for that one. The Seahawks just feel too flukey to me, and Matt Ryan can't be as bad as his playoff history indicates.

Sparky 01-12-2013 03:10 PM

hmm..the seahawks usual tend to impress me in the post season but yeah i haven't watched the falcons all season

debaserr 01-12-2013 11:30 PM

Shoot me now. That's the worst loss I have ever witnessed (BAL>DEN).

Thom Yorke 01-13-2013 09:36 AM

Broncos were pretty overrated this year. They were really underrated at the start due to a tough schedule, but they may have had the easiest schedule in the league from week 6 on. They really didn't beat any contending teams all year. I still thought they would beat the Ravens, but I don't think they would have beaten either the Pats or Texans.

I am still in shock that Fox took a knee with 30 seconds left. It's not like the Broncos were buried on their own goal-line, they were at the 20. Prater has the leg to be able to make one from 60. To not try to advance the ball 40 yards downfield with two timeouts and Peyton Manning throwing the ball is just mind-boggling.

That win by the 49ers was one of the most dominating performances I've seen in along time. I've been saying it since he came into the league, but go to Crabtree as much as possible. His talent and instincts as a receiver are elite, and he should be utilized accordingly. He's as sure-handed and clutch of a receiver as you can find. It's nice to see that Kaepernick found that out.

Capers should be embarrassed. Kaepernick absolutely destroyed them on the ground with remarkable consistency. I don't know how you don't devise something to at least somewhat keep him in check. It's not like it's the first time he's had to prepare for a QB that can burn teams with his running ability.

I'm really looking forward to today's games. The Falcons receivers vs. the Seahawks corners could turn out to be a pretty epic battle. The Falcons defense really hasn't gotten enough credit this year, but I still like the Seahawks due to their more balanced offense. Seahawks are better equipped to contain the Falcons passing attack than maybe any team in the league. If the Falcons have to rely on Turner to get things moving on offense, they're in trouble.

I like the Pats today, but I think Houston surprises a lot of people. They've looked lost for weeks, but I just have a gut feeling that it'll be different today (based on no reason in particular). The Pats have been strong against the run this year so it'll be interesting to see if Foster can keep up his great playoff numbers.

Sparky 01-13-2013 11:06 AM

yeah fox taking a knee was confusing. Is it just me or is mannings arm looking a lot weaker? Just doesn't zip anymore, a lot of his passes dipped. Still can't blame him for the loss even with that pick. Denvers secondary didn't show up. Joe Flacco can throw the deep ball.

Putting all my emotional investment in the seahawks, only team i like left

Sparky 01-13-2013 01:09 PM

goddammit seahawks
