You need a sockpuppet account for stealthy reccing.
Mods are allowed those, right?

It was probably more the surprise aspect of it that changed the rating. Had I heard that as first track, it would more than likely have got a Green, but the rest of the album coloured (hah) my perception of it.
I can understand that, even though I don't give the context as much credit.

Although I definitely expect not to like what you rec, believe it or not, I really hope every time that we will click over something. Melting Pariso wotsit was a case in point. But if I don't like something then I won't pretend I do. TLP thought Blur was the shizz, I disagreed. Got nothing to do with him being who he is, or you being who you are. All I can say is, surprise me!

Well it's the impression that I got with statements like "I fully expect to hate this" prefacing nearly every one of my rec reviews. And you hating Blur is just another sign that there's hope for you yet.

Yeah but I may fully expect to hate it but then end up liking it. As I say, Melting thingy being a case in point where I was fully sure I would not like the album but ended up being really impressed by it. The problem may lie in the fact that you keep picking stuff you must know I won't enjoy, as if by sheer force of will you can make me like it. If you chose something more to my tastes you'd have better success. Another case in point: Beefheart. Hated TMR, loved BJ&M. And you pretty much knew how that would go. So if you think I'll hate something (and how could you not have expected that with Fire Orchestra, knowing my tastes?) then you should not be surprised when that prediction comes true.

I'm sure you listen to a wide variety of music, some of which I probably would like. So why not, when recs reopen, rec one of them instead of this other stuff you know I'll hate? Or at least, if you're not going to do that, then be prepared to accept that I'll hate your recs.

I generally expect you to like these things. There were definitely some bits like the second track on Enter that I knew you would hate, but I thought that the things that you would've loved would be something that you liked. Maybe I should stop assuming you have good taste, you'll probably take more kindly to my recs (because it's largely genuine).

That's relative, obviously and very subjective. Maybe a better idea would be to stop assuming I have or will develop the same taste as you. I won't. Try taking that into account when you rec next. Maybe we'll get lucky. But don't assume that your taste is any better than mine. We're different, is all.

Not having my taste and having bad taste are the same thing, no?
