Track 1(Love) Okay, I'd call the opening of this one a sort of low-key trance, the rap when it comes in is quiet and rather restrained and does not seem angry, unlike so much of the hip-hop I've heard up to now. Also, she can sing and has a lovely voice. And I mean lovely, like angelic. If this is to be a mix of rapping and singing I think I may enjoy this. Spacey keyboards really add to the atmosphere but it's Kitty's low, sultry voice that makes it. If anything she kind of puts me in mind of Kylie, if the sexy little Antipodean rapped.
Track 2(Love) A gentle, almost ambient beginning with what can only be described as a soft rap, no aggression or violence in it, none that I can hear anyway. And yes, she sings on this one too. Lovely.
Track 3(Love) This one is more uptempo but still really nice, and I don't think there's even a rap in it?
Track 4(Love) This just keeps getting better.
Track 5(Love) Even the harder trance elements of this can't ruin it for me.

End result: When Goofle suggested this and I saw it was hip-hop, my heart sank. I moved it up the pecking order, swapping it out for his original choice (which was, ironically, a change from the previous one) because he was anxious to hear what I thought of it. Well, despite my misgivings I'm very impressed. Different, and in a good way.

So, Love or Hate? It's Love, for sure.

Yesssssssss

Also I'll pick a different synth pop album for my next one. Listened to the Desire album today and it was underwhelming bar a few tracks.

Isn't Desire affiliated with Chromatics? He could listen to Kill for Love.

No idea. There's probably more than 10 bands with that name so it could be a different one.

No, I checked RYM and I was right. Johnny Jewel and Nat Walker are in both groups.

Anyway, if Goofle won't, I'm going to put forward Kill for Love by Chromatics. I might say Night Drive instead but I think you'd hate the last track.

Woah man, your misuse of diacritical signs is offensive and racist towards Germans.
Check your privilege.

Well you can't have everything. I guess it's up to anyone who asks me to listen to their album to supply the relevant info for others.

Yeah, I really REALLY enjoyed that. It came very close to being a True Love, probably would except it was so short.

Again: not accepting any albums at the moment.

Title: Faust IV
Artiste: Faust
Genre: Krautrock
Familiarity: Zero
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faust_IV#Track_listing

Track 1(Love) Bit harsh to start with, and I see it's over eleven minutes long. No easing into this one, then! Meh, it kind of settles down after about three or four minutes and I can start getting into it. Not as bad as I had feared it would be. And it went by faster than expected. Yeah, pretty good really.
Track 2(Hate) Not mad about this; kind of reggae feel to it I don't care for
Track 3(Love) This is nice; quite relaxed and low-key, piano at the end is pretty cool.
Track 4(Love) Meh, it's okay, nothing that great
Track 5(Love) Very progressive rock here; like the bass. Great sax too. Oh and some wonderful keyboard work. Yeah, really like this one.
Track 6(Love) (Tracks 6 and 7 are merged on the Spotify copy I have) Nice gentle track, though the French singing is a little weird
Track 7(Love) This is nice, a good closer. Lovely piano and fine guitar.

End result: I don't know what it is about this album; I almost feel as if I haven't heard enough to form an opinion. It seems a little disjointed to me. But what I heard I mostly liked. I just kind of feel like I've been short-changed in some way. Odd.

So, Love or Hate? For the record though, it's a Love.

Here I was about to post The Sad Skinhead in the Songs Everybody Loves thread. Glad you generally liked it though, even if you hated my favourite track on the album.

I don't know that I would go that far, right now. But mayhaps you've still a few sad brain cells 'neath your brow.
